How to Make Toffee Banoffee Pie

This is a fun pie to put together and worth the effort. These five easy steps will give you a dessert that not only looks great, but tastes like heaven!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 can (14 oz) dulce de leche
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Garnish (chocolate shavings or toffee bits)

Directions:

  1. Oven Temperature: 350°F (175°C) Mix flour, icing sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Add honey, stirring until dough comes together. Press into a pie pan and bake 15-20 minutes until golden. Let cool.
  2. After the crust has cooled, cover it with dulce de leche.
  3. Add a layer of sliced bananas to the dulce de leche.
  4. Beat heavy cream and vanilla in a bowl until soft peaks form. Spread over the bananas.
  5. Top with chocolate curls or toffee bits.
  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving

How to Serve Toffee Banoffee Pie

Allow the pie to fully cool and then chill, this is when it taste best! Then you can slice it up into wedges and eat alongside a cup of coffee or scoop some vanilla ice cream over top. Meaning it’s a dessert that everybody will like!

How to Store Toffee Banoffee Pie

Please refrigerate any remaining portions. Cover the pie with a plastic wrap and store it. This will keep for about a week, best if enjoyed within 2–3 days.
