How to Make Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 Green bell pepper, chopped (small)
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hamburger buns
Directions:
- Brown the ground beef in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- Put sautéed onions and green bell peppers in the skillet. Simmer the vegetables until they are tender.
- Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and garlic powder to the ground meat; season with salt & pepper. Mix well.
- Add in the liquid and cook over medium low for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated throughout.
- Thus, hardly bearing a resemblance to the sloppy Joe buns of yore.
