Ingredients:

  • 2 (20 oz) cans apple pie filling
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 ½ cups Kraft caramels (unwrapped and each cut in half)
  • 1 box dry yellow cake mix
  • 1)– 12 tsp cut butter in thin pats, one per cup

Directions:

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F and spray a 13×9 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Spread even layer of apple mixure in prepared pan.
  3. Spread caramels over top of apple filling. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over top of your caramels.
  4. Distribute the butter pats evenly over top of your entire dessert.
  5. Bake at 350°F, for about 45 minutes or until the top is light brown and sides are bubbling.
  6. Allow it to cool for a while and serve.

Serve the same day, warm from the oven. Sure, it tastes good by itself but maybe you want to serve them with some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This will be a family favorite and no one can resist this gooey deliciousness.

If you manage to have any left over (unlikely!) , thus cool the cake altogether and later cover it. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Then next time you want to eat it, just reheat in the microwave.
