Classic No-Bake Tiramisu
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
- Strong brewed coffee, cooled (1 cup)
- 1 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Chocolate, grated or shaved (optional)
Directions
- Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar in a saucepan. Add the milk and cook on medium.Flip once first side is golden brown Continue, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
- Bring it off the heat and allow to cool.
- Add the sugar and cream in a second large bowl, beat on high until stiff peaks form.
- When the egg still warm, fold in ¾ of whipped cream and add all mascarpone together until become smooth.
- Mix the coffee and if used, add some coffee liqueur in a shallow plate. Dip each ladyfinger in coffee mixture quickly; do not soak, and place then into the dish.
- Divide half of the mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the rest of mascarpone mixture.
- Wrap it and let it rest in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours, preferrably overnight.
- When ready to serve, dust with cocoa powder and throw in some chocolate shavings!
